Application CASTROL Performance Bio HE 46

Performance Bio HE 46 is intended for use in all hydraulic systems, where there is a risk that leaking fluid will contaminate ground water and the sewage system, such as in earthmoving machinery, refuse collection lorries, agricultural and forestry machinery, rail vehicles, presses and wrapping machines. Thanks to the carefully selected base oil, it can be used up to +120 °C. The viscosity index has a high value which means that the viscosity of the product depends relatively little on the temperature. The environmentally friendly nature, measured according to the CEC L-33-A-93 test is >90%. Performance Bio HE46 is not miscible with water. Performance Bio HE 46 is miscible with hydraulic fluids based on mineral oil and vegetable or synthetic esters. Nevertheless, when switching from mineral oil based hydraulic fluids to Performance Bio HE 46 it is recommended to empty the system completely as mixing with mineral oil reduces biodegradability and may lead to foaming problems. Performance Bio HE 46 meets the requirements according to VDMA 24568 for a HEES (Hydraulic Environmental Ester Synthetic).

Molyduval Silo D 50

A synthetic special fluid for heat transfer systems intended for high temperatures and open systems.

Main applications of Molyduval Silo D 50 are:

Silicone based lubricating oil with extremely high thermal stability. Compared with other lubricants, it has a very high viscosity index, which means a relatively constant viscosity within a wide temperature range.

A new generation of amine and boric acid-free water-miscible metalworking fluids, recommended for general machining on a wide range of metals including all kind of Aluminium alloys.

SITALA A 400 is a medium duty emulsifiable, boron and amine-free metalworking fluid forming a stable macroemulsion based on high quality mineral oil and polar lubricity additives.

Applications:

SITALA A 400 is recommended for medium machining and grinding operations on a wide range of material including, cast iron, low to medium alloyed steels and aluminium. A non-staining, low alkalinity formula also makes it suitable for machining yellow metals.

The product is designed for soft to medium hardness and for use in single sump machines.

It is not normally used in large central systems.

Shell Gadus S5 V142W 00 main applications:

• Small industrial gear units
• Worm gears the low steel/tin-bronze frictional characteristics of Shell Gadus S5 V142W make it particularly suitable for worm gears having this combination of alloys.
• Steel/Aluminium-bronze: Shell Gadus S5 V142W is not recommended for the combination steel/aluminium- bronze, for which a grease based on a higher viscosity mineral oil is preferred.
• Flushing and filling with Shell Gadus S5 V142W: is a synthetic polyglycol based lubricant and must not be mixed with mineral oils. Care should be taken when changing over from oil or conventional grease. Flushing with a thin mineral oil will ensure, as far as possible, freedom from solid contaminants and deterioration products resulting from previous use of gear oils or greases. It is important to ensure that none of the flushing oil remains in the gearbox. When refilling the gearbox with Shell Gadus S5 V142W every precaution should be taken to ensure complete cleanliness. For optimum performance from both gearbox and lubricant, only the amount recommended by the gearbox manufacturer should be used.
• Paints. High quality red lead or epoxy resin paints are recommended for use in contact with Shell Gadus S5 V142W, as the synthetic polyglycol component will tend to attack certain conventional paints.
• Seals. Shell Gadus S5 V142W may be used satisfactorily with all normal seal materials. Leather seals are not recommended as the natural fats tend to be removed, leaving the seals thin and brittle.
