Shell PANOLIN S4 Gear is a synthetic fluid for use in gearing applications such as marine propulsion drives, thrusters and controllable pitch propellers, high-performance and readily biodegradable lubricant, based on saturated synthetic esters for industrial gear drives.
Performance, Features & Benefits of Shell PANOLIN S4 Gear 68:
- Enhanced wear protection. Carefully selected additives provide advanced wear protection across a wide range of conditions, ensuring long component life.
- Maintains system efficiency. Shell PANOLIN S4 Gear Oil features a high viscosity index that helps protect components over a broad temperature range, making it a true multigrade gear oil. Its low pour point and cold flow properties ensure protection and performance even in cold climates.
- Reduced environmental impact. Recommended for use in environmentally sensitive areas – offers lower environmental impact from leaks or accidental spills compared to conventional mineral oils. Readily biodegradable, with more than 60% degradation after 28 days in the OECD 301 B CO₂ evolution test. Low ecotoxicity, classified as ‘non-harmful’ when tested as water accommodated fractions (WAFs) according to OECD and EPA test guidelines. Tested to industry standards by an independent laboratory; all Shell PANOLIN products are tested according to OECD 202.
