It may be used in reciprocating and screw-type compressors, with lower viscosity grades in the series commonly used in rotary designs.
Mobil Rarus 400 Series lubricants are recommended for installations with known issues such as rapid oil degradation, poor valve performance or heavy deposit formation. They are compatible with all common compressor metals and elastomers designed for mineral-oil-based lubricants used in seals, O-rings and gaskets.
Mobil Rarus 427 is not intended or recommended for use in breathing air compressors.
