Applying Klüber Summit DSL 68
The Klüber Summit DSL 68 oil is specially designed for oil freshening intervals of up to 8,000 operating hours* in oil-injected propeller compressors. Klüber Summit DSL 32 and 46 can also be used for lubricating centrifugal compressors, while Klüber Summit DSL 68 is particularly suitable for the lubrication piston compressors. Klüber Summit DSL oils are used for compressors previously used with conventional mineral oils. These oils are neutral compared to most elastomer seals used in air compressors, so leakage is not to be expected. Klüber Summit DSL 68 is biodegradable and can therefore be used in environmentally friendly applications. Klüber Summit DSL 68 oil offer good oxidation stability thanks to the synthetic base oil, minimising oxidative residues in the compressors in the oil freshening intervals and extending the life of oil filters and separators (screw compressors) and valves (piston compressors).

Klüber Summit DSL oils are air compressor oils based on synthetic ester oil and additives. They are compatible and can be mixed with mineral oils, synthetic hydrocarbon oils, and polyglycol oils.

Application Instructions
When selecting the oil viscosity for air compressors, the compressor manufacturer's instructions must be observed. When converting a used compressor to a Klüber Summit DSL oil, the old oil should be drained from the entire compressor circuit while still warm. We also recommend replacing all oil filters and separators. The compressor should then be filled with Klüber Summit DSL oil. When converting from a mineral oil to a synthetic Klüber Summit DSL oil, please note that the compressor may contain oxidation residues in the form of darkened or contaminated oil. Since such residues may affect the service life of the fresh Klüber Summit DSL oil, the compressor should be cleaned using Klüber Summit Varnasolv cleaner (see product information sheet). Your Klüber Lubrication contact persons will be pleased to provide further information. After switching to a Klüber Summit DSL oil, we recommend determining the oil change interval through oil analysis or by using the Klüber Summit TAN Kit.
