Properties

Castrol EDGE is three times stronger against viscosity breakdown than the leading synthetic and leading conventional oils.

The unique titanium technology physically changes the way oil behaves under extreme pressures doubling its film strength, preventing oil from breaking down and reducing friction to maximize engine performance.

Castrol EDGE with Fluid Titanium has twice the film strength of our previous formula based on the HFRR friction test.

Tested in 5W-30 versus all major conventional brands, Mobil1 and Mobil1 Extended Performance in the ASTM D6278 test.

Castrol EDGE is available in the following grades: 0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30, 5W-30 A3/B4, 5W-30 C3, 5W-40, 5W-40 Turbo Diesel, 5W-50, 10W-30, 10W-40 and 10W-60.

Castrol Radicool NF has been developed to meet the growing demand from engine and vehicle manufacturers for a higher performance coolant that minimises environmental impact. It provides excellent protection against corrosion, and because it contains no phosphate, the problems of deposits in some modern performance engines are eliminated. In addition to providing excellent corrosion and low temperature protection, the use of the recommended level of anti-freeze will significantly reduce the likelihood of wet cylinder liner pitting due to " cavitation erosion". Cavitation erosion is caused by the implosion of air bubbles present in the coolant, which are attracted to the liner outer surface. These bubbles implode, resulting in the removal of minute amounts of liner material - this, if allowed to continue unchecked, will result in liner porosity and severe engine damage.

Application of CASTROL HONILO 971

Castrol Honilo 971 has been specially developed for honing, finishing, fine turning, fine boring, deep-hole drilling, slot milling, sawing, and even glass machining. It is also highly suitable for wire drawing operations.

This product range is designed to deliver the finest surface finishes, standing out among similar products for its superior performance characteristics. Its excellent flushing capability and easy chip removal are particularly important for high-precision operations.

Castrol Honilo 971 remains clear and transparent even during long-term use and offers exceptional resistance to oxidation and aging. Its outstanding cooling performance ensures low operating temperatures, allowing extremely tight machining tolerances to be maintained.

The carefully selected activation package provides optimal tool life, even under the most demanding machining conditions. Its superior flushing action enables operations with very fine honing stones without clogging.

While Castrol Honilo 930 is recommended for honing cast iron, Castrol Honilo 971 is ideally suited for honing tough steels in heavy-duty machining and deep-hole drilling applications.

It is approved by ZF for use in their multi-disc wet brakes and self-locking differentials used in a range of commercial vehicle applications including axles in off-road and agricultural equipment.
